Students Learn Digital Fabrication at Bayfront Maritime Center

May 28, 2011 The new ShopBot CNC digital fabrication equipment is up and running with Erie, PA, high school students in the Bayfront Maritime Center Boatshop, a community-based educational center. These kids are learning valuable 21st century workplace skills. First they design a project using a Computer Aided Design (CAD) program. This data is then converted into a Computer Numeric Control (CNC) toolpath to run the digital fabrication machine. …

August, 2012. The first-ever South American Campo de ShopBot was held in Guatemala. ShopBot’s Chris Burns and his 15-year-old daughter Sarah were on hand to lead seminars and teach ShopBot skills to the young residents of a local orphanage.
