The 2005 Camp season was bigger than ever, with over a dozen including the first outside the US…the UK gathering at John Hesp’s. Now it’s time to start looking ahead and planning for the new season…here’s the next couple of month’s worth of Camps.
* Jan 20-21 … Ed Conley in Marietta Georgia. This is Ed’s second Camp and there’s a great group of very talented ShopBotters in Atlanta and the surrounding area that attend.
* Feb 4 … Eric Lamoray in Winter Garden Florida. Many of you know Eric from the ShopBot forum…he knows more about production cutting with a ShopBot than anyone we know. Winter Garden is just outside Orlando and this is during the “value season” at Disney World, so this is a great Camp to attend if you want to combine work with a family vacation.
* Feb 24-25 … Wayne Locke in Austin Texas. Wayne does all kinds of interesting work with his ShopBot including turnings, and this will be his third Camp. Lots of ShopBot “dignitaries” that are active on the forum attend Wayne’s Camp.
* March 17-18 … Doug Strickland in Ada Oklahoma. Doug and his son run a sign business in Ada and have hosted a camp for the past several years. Be prepared to learn a lot at Doug’s Camp…he puts a lot of planning into his Camps.
* April 27-29 … The 5th ShopBot Jamboree in Durham North Carolina. The Jamboree is the largest gathering of ShopBotters and is the closest thing to a convention that we have. There are lots of talks and presentations, vendors of all sorts, and plenty of time to just sit and “schmooze”. If you can only attend one ShopBot event, this is the one to come to. We’ll have registration information on the ShopBot web site soon, so keep checking for special “early registration” deals and pricing.
